Terms of use
Placeholder text for the owner to review. These terms are a generic starting point, not legal advice. Replace every [marked] part and have them checked for the countries you offer the game in before launch.
1. Who we are
Tidehold is a browser game run by [OPERATOR NAME, ADDRESS, COUNTRY] ("we"). You can reach us through the in-game Support window or at [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. Your account
- You need an account to play. One person may hold [one account per game world].
- Accounts that play from one internet connection (a family, a flat, a school) must declare it in Options (Shared connection); declared accounts cannot send fleets, armies or spies to each other nor trade together. Undeclared accounts on one connection that deal with each other may be banned.
- You must be at least [16] years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens with your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Options → Delete account.
3. Fair play
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or other tools that play for you or give you an unfair advantage;
- exploit bugs (please report them through Support instead);
- share, sell or buy accounts, or play several accounts to help one another;
- harass, threaten or insult other players, or post illegal, hateful or sexual content in names, messages or alliance pages;
- attack, overload or try to break into the game's servers.
We may warn, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and remove names or texts that break them.
4. Tidepearls and premium features
[If you sell virtual currency: describe prices, that Tidepearls have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, the right of withdrawal and how it ends when the pearls are used, refunds, and what happens to unused pearls when an account is closed or the game ends.]
5. The game changes
Tidehold is in development. We may change, balance, reset or end game worlds and features. We will announce bigger changes in the game in advance where we can.
6. Availability and liability
We try to keep the game running, but cannot promise it is always available or free of errors. [Limitation of liability as allowed by the applicable law.]
7. Your content
You keep the rights to what you write (messages, alliance texts). You allow us to store and show it in the game as needed to run it.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we tell you in the game before they apply.
9. Law
[Applicable law and place of jurisdiction; consumer rights that cannot be waived stay unaffected.]
