Raise a town. Rule the isles.

A strategy game for your browser, played with real people. Build up a harbour town on an island you share with up to fourteen neighbours, trade at the market, and send your fleets to war.

Every street of it painted

A town after a few months of play, as you see it in the game: townspeople at work, smoke from the chimneys, a cog at the pier. It follows the seasons and the hour of the day.

A painted town seen from above: a town hall on its square, timber houses, a temple, a wall with red towers, a river and a lighthouse on the beach

Your town grows while you are away

Every player starts with one town hall on the coast. What you build next decides what kind of ruler you become.

  • Build and upgrade more than twenty buildings, from the academy and the market to the castle and the temple.
  • Keep your people happy: put citizens to work in the forest, the quarry or the library, and watch the town fill up.
  • Found new towns on other islands with settlers, and run them all from one realm treasury.

One island, fifteen towns, one wonder

Each island holds a wonder. Its towns donate wood and gold to raise it, keep priests in their temples, and every one of them can call on its power.

  • Altar of Iron

All your units fight harder in every battle.

  • Lighthouse of the Winds

Every fleet you send, war or merchant, sails faster.

  • Shroud of Mists

Hostile fleets bound for your towns lose their way and arrive later.

  • Sanctuary

More of your goods stay hidden from plunderers.

  • Tidal Gardens

Your towns grow faster and their people are happier.

  • Observatory

Your researchers work faster in all your towns.

Trade with real players

Each island yields one luxury, and you need all four. Post offers at your Market Hall, take the offers of players across the sea, and your merchant cogs sail out to fetch the goods.

War at sea and on land

Battles last for rounds on a real battlefield: the front line holds, archers shoot over it, horsemen strike the flanks and siege engines break the wall. Bring reinforcements, or sound the retreat in time.

At sea: war galleys, fireships and a carrack leave the harbour.
On land: the army marches on the town wall, its siege engines at the back.

Allies, rivals and a research tree

Found an alliance or join one, share its board and circulars, give out ranks and offices, sign treaties. Your scholars push four branches of research, from better ships to stronger walls.

  • Stewardkeeps your towns
  • Marshalleads your army
  • Scholarruns your research
  • Envoyspeaks for you abroad

How it plays

  1. Pick a world

Create one account, then choose a world to play on. Each world is its own map with its own players.

  2. Found your town

Name it. You land on an island with room for neighbours, and a short tutorial shows you around.

  3. Build while you are away

Constructions and research run on real time. Check in a few times a day and set the next orders.

  4. Trade, raid or ally

Once you meet your neighbours, decide who to trade with, who to protect and who to plunder.

The tide is in, the harbour is open

Your island is waiting. It takes a minute to create an account and found your first town.
